Come on man, you know you want to!  Cool that way you wont even need to worry about the amount of tread left on your tires... instead you can help me wear mine in.

If I can get up early enough. I will be there. Goin out sat night.

here is my fastest time from yesterday (you may want to turn down your volume if its up, there is alot of wind noise in here, but you can hear my engine through it too)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wenJ6HBpJzo

I made a couple of mistakes, especially on the second and last slalom but I came within 5 seconds of the fast Miatas for a change! and bumped up from 4th from last in pax to being a 3rd of a standard deviation from the mean and just a little under the average pax time. (in other words I was really close to the middle instead of the bottom)

Alex from our club with the silver 5 door SVT Focus said he was going to the AutoX this weekend.  Keep an eye out for him if you could please.  Thanks.

Alex was there. I helped him a bit when he asked for it (I'm part of the lvr-scca "new driver committee", and the trailer hooked me up with him when he asked for some assistance). It was a lot of fun riding along with him and helping him get on-line... tho really he already seemed to know where he was going, so it took minimal effort on my part Smiley I hope he enjoyed the day, and continues to come out!

I like your line a lot. I would suggest earlier turn-in at a few points, but it's really difficult w/out seeing the front of the car (in relation to the video). If you want to use the in-car video as a self-teaching tool, point it down further, so you can see a small portion of the front of the hood/fenders. In-car video will nearly never help you w/looking ahead, since the camera is pointing where the car is going, instead of where you're looking (or should be looking), but it can help you to see how far off-line you are in relation to the cones you aren't hitting.

You seem to have a talent for finding the proper racing line already... hope you don't have a problem at the Jun12 Silverton night event if I throw a newbie into your car as a passenger for them to see how you drive it Smiley

I actually have been working on not over-doing the late-apex concept... So that is a mistake I have been making. I tried to get that sucker to give me a bit of hood but it kept squirming... I'll figure out some way to fix that before next event. As for help with looking ahead, its one of the things I really like about it because the better I get at keeping my eyes where they need to be the more I sacrifice seeing if I got right next to "that cone" that I wanted to be right next to.

As for new drivers, sure I am happy to have riders. I will have a co-driver for the next event so he'll have to sit one of my runs out but I am sure that shouldn't be a problem.

No problem Erich, I just talked to Albert (he was my backup) and he said he'll be there...

JP you thinking about coming out? It should be a fun night, plus its supposed to cool off this weekend.

My best time of the night 54.297. Good enough to earn me 20th place in pax

unfortunately the video didn't come out very good this time. It was a wild track that circled back on itself at the start, it's crazy that we had a silverton event with times nearing a full minute!

This was a really great event
