I was in first gear all but the back end, was in second until the awkward slalom near the end just before the hair pin when I shifted back down into first...

While this was another first gear track, I can assure you it was by far not boring... everyone was really safe and only a couple of people really lost it, but there were quite a few places where you could misjudge turns... I was actually taking it rather easy out there, had I been pushing it a little more I probably could have picked a up somewhere between a half to two seconds....

I couldn't quite hear, I'll have to watch again later when I am not in such a noisy room.

too bad the video is all jumpy, that looked like a tight track, would have been interesting to see... that was out at prim right?

Yeah my co-driver was filming and he was having a hard time holding the camera still.  It was at Primm during January of 2007... been a long time.

yep, 2 weeks from yesterday.

I'll be there, possibly running in CSP this time if my potential co-driver confirms that he's going to be able to make it. He's offered to let me borrow a set of race tires for the Miata

Bummer, I was looking at the SCCA rules and for the STS class (very mildly modified vehicles) you cannot run a limited slip diff (apart from a standrad viscous type like the early Miatas). That would exclude pretty much all 94-97 Miatas. Not fair! You then have to run in the highly modified class and get your ass whooped.
I was thinking of getting a set of 888s and start some autocrossing in the future but with these rules it's gonna be difficult.

Which class do you run Carl?

It's dead stock unfortunately, it only has the FM frame rails and will add the butterfly soon. Also has Tokico shocks/FM springs.

For autox I was thinking of doing some basic mods, like the ones i did to my other Miata: Carbotech pads, Motul RBF600 brake fluid and R888's, these mods are the best for autox or time attacks, make a huge difference in lap times and don't cost much.

You might want to double-check the rules, but I think you can run in ES even after the mods... I dont remember if stock you can do shocks and springs, but if you can then the standard is probably that they have to be direct bolt on replacements for OEM...

Sorry dude it's a night event, reg starts at 5pm, first car out by 7. You might fit into CS or ES as well depending on the shocks thing... is your diff stock or has ever been stock on a different miata?
